The penultimate round of the 2017 Pro Motocross Championship took place at historic Budds Creek, Maryland. It was title time for the man who has dominated the 250 division all year long as newly crowned 2017 250SX Eastern Division Champion Zach Osborne also dominated the summer. With eight moto wins and four overall victories to his credit, Osborne only needed 14 points over Jeremy Martin to secure the 2017 250 Pro Motocross title. At the end of the day, Zach posted 8-1 moto scores, more than enough to capture the crown and complete what has been a dream season for the veteran 250 rider.

Taking the day’s overall victory in the 250 division was Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki racer Adam Cianciarulo. Since bursting onto the scene in 2014 as one of the hottest amateur prospects of all-time, Cianciarulo suffered a rash of injuries, making his victory all the more sweet.

Meanwhile, in the 450 division, the gap between series point leader Eli Tomac and Blake Baggett, AND Marvin Musquin has tightened up. After a string of dominating weekends, Tomac has been losing points in bunches to Marvin Musquin, who had a 6 moto win streak coming into the day of racing at Budds Creek. As the first motos got underway, things looked bleak for Tomac as he suffered a poor start and had to claw his way through the pack. At the front, it was Justin Bogle racing away with the moto victory, while Musquin came home second. Tomac finished 7th and again had people scratching their heads as to whether or not he would close the deal on this title.

Moto two saw Tomac rebound in a big way and take the victory. He came into the weekend with a 27-point lead and left with a 28-point lead with just one round to race in the championship.

The story of the day in the 450 class was the overall victory by Justin Bogle. The 2014 250SX Eastern Region Champion posted 1-3 moto scores to steal away a huge win.

The Pro Motocross Championship concludes August 26 in Crawfordsville, Illinois.
